Phoenix Flying High

 

Every year, Phoenix Insurance Group Edmonton Inc. eagerly rises up to the challenge of fundraising for United Way.

This year, Phoenix Edmonton’s staff of 48 successfully surpassed their $4,000 goal by raising a total of $4,047 through in-house events.  In addition, the Edmonton Office Partners generously donated $5,000 and numerous employees signed up to donate through the Payroll Deduction Program!

Some of the various and fun events that Phoenix held to raise money for the 2009 campaign included:

•    Phoenix Golf tournament “Beat the Partner” hole.
•    Football/Hockey ticket draws
•    Weekly 50/50 draws
•    Pancake Breakfast
•    Potluck lunches
•    Chili cook-off
•    Be-seen-in-Jeans week
•    Bake/Craft sales
•    Loose Change Challenge
•    Silent Auction

These events would not have been a success without the participation and generosity of the Phoenix staff.  Way to go, Phoenix!

Phoenix employees chose to support the four following charities with the funds that were raised:

•    Youth Emergency Shelter
•    Edmonton Humane Society
•    Women’s Shelter
•    Boyle Street
